Took the Light Rail to Tempe for dinner and a play at ASU. Looking for a place to have dinner, we stumbled into La Bocca. What a find. This is far from your average pizzeria. They have both sidewalk and indoor seating. We opted for indoors. The ambiance was fantastic. Harwood tables and chairs, comfortable couches and a French movie Paris Je t'aime playing on a large screen. I thought the menue was unique. Our server Matthew explained the menu pointing out that they use locally produced items such as Queen Creek olives and Schreiner's sausages. I had never seen a matini and cucumber combination (Clean Slate Martini $7.00) and decided to try it. It was delicious and refreshing. I had two. We decided to start with the bruschetta.
This is the bruschette board. From left to right: queen creek olives & ricotta caprese with fresh pulled mozzarella norwegian smoked salmon & mascarpone
prosciutto, fig & mascarpone. It was delicious. I was taught that it is impolite to moan at the table but last night I couldn't help it. The meal was that good. After the bruschetta came the pizza. I'll finish later. Have to go right now
