PIAZZA DELLA SIGNORIA

We continued our walk through Florence and arrived at the Piazza della Signoria, a L shaped area which has served as the city center and gathering place for the people of Florence since the 1400's.  It is near the Ponte Vecchio and is the gateway to the Uffizi Gallery.  For more information about Piazza della Signoria go to

                                      The Neptune Fountain
                                              David
                                               Hercules and Cacus
                                               Perseus

These statues are replicas of the original works which are housed in museums in Florence.

Michelangelo Buonarroti along side the Uffizi.
Pictures were not allowed in the Uffizi.  Go to this link and click on the work of art to see the picture.

I like the photos of the statues. You took nice shots and missed the crowd at the base! More! More!
